The best place to play! Find a field, a park, a beach, or a back yard and kids will have fun. There’s no such thing as the wrong weather, only the wrong clothes so get the kids outside with these fun, engaging toys and let them wear themselves out.
Fresh air and exercise are good, even for children who can't walk. Even the smallest outdoor space can be used imaginatively to encourage play. Encouraging independent movement is really beneficial and can reduce frustration in babies. 0-3 is the period of the quickest development so children's play behaviour changes quickly as they mature.
Free play outside (garden, park etc) will give this age group their first chance of independence as parents don't need to hover over them and children can enjoy challenging themselves and getting rid of all that energy. Children learn a great deal from playing outside and can learn to respect nature, their enviornment and their community. Children who are active in their environment are less likely to be involved in anti-social behaviour as they get older.
Aventure, and independence are what is sought by this age group. Think about the balance - if you can't yet give them independence, make sure their outdoor play has some adrenaline, if you're starting to give them independence, begin with somewhere safe and familiar. Encourage children to behave in ways that earns trust so that you can feel more confident in giving them the freedoms they crave.
