Literacy - Magnetic Words
Once children can read a world of opportunity opens up to them and they are able to make sense of the world around them, learn about things that interest them, and take a full role in society
My World - My Town Jigsaw Puzzle
Learning about the world is a key objective of the National Curriculum and giving children the opportunity to talk about their world increases confidence and understanding. Don't shy away from children noticing differences in people, or different cultures of areas around their neighbourhood - be open and answer any questions they have. A globe is a great tool to have around the home for explaining about the wider world, which can be a difficult concept to grasp. When on outings such as the zoo, talk to children about where different animals come from and how their habitats vary.
